Frequently Asked Questions

Our brass is sourced from all over the country, from private to public ranges, indoor to outdoor ranges, Military/LEO ranges and even estate sales or retail at times too. If there is an opportunity to buy brass that makes sense, we will buy it.

“Once Fired Brass” is a term used within the industry and loosely means “brass cases that have been fired, mostly only one time”. Since we buy the brass that we eventually sell, we would have no way of knowing how many times any case has been fired and prefer to refer to all of our cases as “Fired Brass”.

We do NOT sell any loaded ammunition at Sasquatch Brass.

We do NOT currently sell any other reloading components, but that may possibly change in the future.

Our brass is sorted first by machines to separate the cases by width, then height, then we hand sort the remaining cases by individual cartridge. This does take more time, but we feel it gives an added benefit of accuracy. We may also list certain cases sorted by manufacturer headstamps at times.

We fill each order by weight and typically add an additional 2-5% to cover for any damaged/non-reloadable cases that were missed during sorting.

The majority of the brass that we sell can clean up and polish to look almost new, but some of the other cases will not be quite as perfect. Most tarnish will not affect the reloading process and overly tarnished cases are removed before packaging when they are noticed. Most cases that have dents will more than likely be fixed by the appropriate sizing die or after the first firing.

We prefer to use dry tumbling with corn cob media to clean and polish our cases. We add a touch of odorless mineral spirits to help with the cleaning and a bit of nu-finish car polish to help with polishing. We feel the end product shines nicely and will maintain that shine for an extended period of time.

Yes, we try to list the items that we have a deeper stock in on the website, but may also have smaller amounts of some that are not listed. If you are looking for something specific, just send us an email at [email protected] and we will let you know what we have for availability.

When buying mixed brass, those 3 calibers can sometimes take up 85% of the total brass by weight. The market is already flooded with several options for these most common calibers. We have decided to focus our sorting strategy around the other less common calibers that buyers are looking for.
